Things to do at OceanScape |
Fishing - Beach - Surf - Walking - Whale Watching - Relaxing
If wishing to stay at OceanScape for a week or more, it is the type of place where you can veg out and just swim, surf then siesta, read a book or just watch TV on the big flat screen. During the whale migration seasons (May/June and Sept/Oct) you can 'whale watch' from the luxurious comfort of your Oceanscape Villas. If you are more energetic you are able to easily walk to the main beach, (about 10 minutes) on a beautiful headland walk, or head south and do a fascinating headland walk to Middle Beach - with absolutely spectacular vistas toward South West Rocks. It takes about 20-30 minutes. From there you can then walk along the beach to Grassy Head. You can learn to surf while you are here and even have one on one lessons with Trent Munro, who has left the professional circuit to maintain his allegiance with surfing at Scotts Head. The Nambucca River Cruises provide a relaxing trip up and down the Nambucca River. Scotts Head is an excellent surfing location, with the main beach providing one of the best point breaks on the coast in a good swell!. You can additionally choose from Little Beach or Wakki Beach, depending on the direction of the swell and wind. If you are keen to wet a line, Scotts Head is highly regarded as a fishing location for beach and rock fishing. You can also easily access Warrell Creek at 'the back' of Scotts Head, if creek & estuary fishing is more your style. Scotts Head has its own bowling greens & club, with a bistro open most days/evenings. If you wish to play golf while on holidays, there is the local Macksville Golf Course only 15 minutes away. Additionally there is the picturesque 9 Islands Golf Course at Nambucca Heads, and a third course at Bowraville. Shops at Scotts Head include 2 cafes, a bottle shop, supermarket, butcher, baker and chemist. Be aware that there is no petrol station in Scotts Head, so ensure that you have sufficient fuel before coming out from Macksville. |
